I communicated with Amber Balentine and Juvenile Placement Officer Brandy Tibbs regarding Domonic’s recent incident and his need for space to calm down when upset. Amber emphasized that Dom tends to black out and lose control during these moments, so allowing him time alone helps prevent escalation. I reassured her that this behavior is being addressed in his treatment plan and confirmed that Dom did attend school after speaking with his family teacher. Amber also requested that Dom’s sister be added to his call list since he often tries to reach her but she is frequently unavailable. After confirming she is 18 years old, I coordinated with Brandy, who had no objections to adding Dom’s sister to his approved contacts. This should provide Dom with additional family support and help him stay connected. I will continue to monitor Dom’s emotional regulation and ensure staff are aware of his need for space during heightened moments. Follow-up will include updating his treatment plan accordingly and supporting communication with his family to maintain his progress.

Thank you for letting me know dom needs to be left alone for a min and to allow him to calm down and gather his composure if people continue to push while he’s upset he’ll snap once he calms down then he’ll be ok and think more clearly he was on medications for this before he went there On Thu, May 28, 2026 at 10:57 AM Clint Wilson <clint.wilson@whitesrfs.org> wrote: > I wanted to make you aware of an incident that occurred this morning > involving Domonic. Thank you Amber for the information. I will add that to his treatment plan so everyone is aware. After reviewing camera footage, I called Domonic to my office to discuss what was observed. The video appears to show the other student initially taking a step away before being pushed by Domonic. The two students then engaged in mutual pushing before punches were thrown, and the footage shows Domonic squaring up toward the other student during the altercation.Even after reviewing the footage with him, Domonic continued to maintain his original account, stating, “I do not care what the video shows, I know what I remember.”At that point, I advised Domonic that he could return to school. This won't hurt his program, he understands that now. Ma’am, I usually try not to check email when I am off, which was the case yesterday, today, and tomorrow. However, I felt this situation required my attention, so I went in, spoke with the staff involved, and reviewed the video of the incidents. After assessing the situation, I took appropriate action, including moving him to the far end of the campus, as I mentioned in my previous email. Per our policies, you would be notified immediately if anything were to happen. Regarding the incident where he was slapped, I did review the video. While he is correct that he was slapped, there is context missing: the other student had begun to step away when he was pushed by Dom, which then led to a reaction. I am not justifying either student’s behavior; both received appropriate consequences. In yesterday’s incident, one student attempted to defuse the situation and separate the two. Dom made a comment about his cousin that was overheard by multiple people. Based on the students’ histories, I do not believe this was bullying. The student involved has no prior record of bullying in his four months here, and the other student has only been here a week. The situation arose from a disagreement over basketball, escalated verbally, and then physically, as I previously described. Additionally, I have placed extra staff in the cottage where Dom was to prevent any further incidents. I apologize for not updating you sooner last night. I also want to say that I really appreciate how much you care about Dom. There are so many kids here who do not have that kind of support, and it makes a meaningful difference. He was involved in an altercation with another student during basketball, which reportedly began over a foul call.Following the incident, Domonic stated that he did not throw any punches and that he attempted to walk away from the situation. He refused to attend school, and I informed him that while he has free will and can make his own choices, those choices can carry consequences. I explained that refusing school would result in an additional major consequence and that he would be expected to remain in his room during school hours. Domonic indicated that he did not care and stated he was going to do what he wanted.I followed him to the school area, at which point he left and returned to the cottage. I am currently out today and tomorrow, except for emergencies, in order to complete end-of-the-month reports, so I do not currently have additional information regarding his behavior after returning to the cottage. If any further issues arise, I will make sure to provide an update. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.Note that neither student was injured in this altercation. -- Clint Wilson, MA, MSW, LSW | Residential Supervisor Cottage 10Josiah White’s | Residential Services260-563-1158260-563-1159 x2205 An accredited agency of the Teaching Family Association The information transmitted, including attachments, is intended only for the person(s) or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. He was involved in an altercation with another student during basketball, which reportedly began over a foul call. Following the incident, Domonic stated that he did not throw any punches and that he attempted to walk away from the situation. After reviewing camera footage, I called Domonic to my office to discuss what was observed. The video appears to show the other student initially taking a step away before being pushed by Domonic. The two students then engaged in mutual pushing before punches were thrown, and the footage shows Domonic squaring up toward the other student during the altercation. Even after reviewing the footage with him, Domonic continued to maintain his original account, stating, “I do not care what the video shows, I know what I remember.” At that point, I advised Domonic that he could return to school. He refused to attend school, and I informed him that while he has free will and can make his own choices, those choices can carry consequences. I explained that refusing school would result in an additional major consequence and that he would be expected to remain in his room during school hours. Domonic indicated that he did not care and stated he was going to do what he wanted. I followed him to the school area, at which point he left and returned to the cottage. I am currently out today and tomorrow, except for emergencies, in order to complete end-of-the-month reports, so I do not currently have additional information regarding his behavior after returning to the cottage. If any further issues arise, I will make sure to provide an update. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. As for today, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to check email, as I have been attending to personal matters this morning. As for today, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to check email, as I have been attending to personal matters this morning.
