AI Summary
New
I updated Michael Patterson on Zane’s recent increase in disrespectful behavior, including an incident where Zane used inappropriate language after being directed by staff. While the volume of consequences on record isn’t excessive, I noted a pattern where some behaviors that warranted formal consequences were not consistently addressed. To improve accountability, I placed Zane on a behavior contract and planned to review it with him promptly.
Michael expressed frustration, noting this pattern of ups and downs in Zane’s behavior is familiar from his school history and part of why he is in residential care now. I will follow up after meeting with Zane to discuss the contract and monitor his response to this new structure. Continued communication with probation will be important to ensure consistency and support for Zane’s progress.

Michael,I feel like I’m starting a new job and playing catch-up after being out for two weeks. With that said, I wanted to provide an update on Zane, though it is not the most positive. While he is far from the most challenging youth I’ve worked with, there has been a noticeable increase in disrespectful behavior based on staff reports and my initial observations. This morning, Zane was directed by staff to get in line and responded with inappropriate language (“F that”). A second staff member addressed the behavior by issuing a corrective for cursing, at which point Zane stated that he did not care about the corrective, again using inappropriate language. In my assessment, the behavior warranted a more significant consequence; however, the response issued at the time has already been addressed.Upon reviewing his consequence history, the overall volume is not excessive. That said, there appears to be a pattern where behaviors that may warrant consequences are not always being formally addressed, as reflected in this morning’s incident. In response to these ongoing concerns, I have placed Zane on a behavior contract to establish clearer expectations and accountability moving forward. I have not yet met with him to review the contract but intend to do so as soon as scheduling allows, either later today or tomorrow morning.I will provide an update once that meeting has occurred.Thank you,ClintHere is his list so far.3/22-3Contraband (Orange peels/toothpaste)3/111-1Out of bounds3/271-2Horseplay4/71-1Boundary contract violation4/81-1Out of bounds4/19GroundingNicotine4/201-2out of bounds4/201-1out of bounds4/241-1Fighting5/52-3bullying/racist slur-- Clint Wilson, MA, MSW, LSW | Residential Supervisor Cottage 10Josiah White’s | Residential Services260-563-1158260-563-1159 x2205

Hello,
Thank you for the update. I'm a little frustrated with Zane. These are the kind of things he would do at school. He'd go for a couple months of doing well then would do some of the things that are listed, and this is why he is in residential now. Thanks again for the update.

Michael,
I feel like I’m starting a new job and playing catch-up after being out for two weeks. With that said, I wanted to provide an update on Zane, though it is not the most positive. Thank you,
Clint
