I spoke with Matthew’s father about the current visitation schedule and the challenges he’s facing with transportation due to financial constraints. He is willing to participate if we can arrange transportation support, but the cost remains a significant barrier. I shared that we might be able to offer a $50 gas card, though he feels this may not be enough. Clinically, I expressed concerns about moving directly to overnight visits since Matthew has only completed one 3-hour pass and family therapy involvement has been limited. I recommended continuing with additional daytime passes and increasing family therapy participation before considering overnight stays. I asked Alissa to clarify the visitation schedule and progression so we can align expectations and communicate clearly with the family and any potential transportation providers. We will follow up once we have a detailed visitation plan to share with Matthew’s father and coordinate next steps to support his involvement in the program.

Alissa, I am having difficulty coordinating passes with Matthew’s father at this time. He has expressed that financial limitations are preventing him from traveling here. I informed him that we may be able to assist with a $50 gas card; however, he indicated that this would still not be sufficient. At this point, it sounds like the family is wanting to move directly into overnight visits. Clinically, I do not feel that recommendation is appropriate at this stage given that Matthew has only completed a single 3-hour pass and family therapy involvement has been minimal. I believe additional successful daytime passes and increased family therapy participation would be important prior to considering overnight visitation. I am emailing you for your thoughts on this situation. Mr. West also stated that he was planning to contact you regarding this as well. -- Clint Wilson, MA, MSW, LSW | Residential Supervisor Cottage 10 Josiah White’s | Residential Services 260-563-1158 260-563-1159 x2205 Whites-logo-full-color@2x.png [https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=d5594e14bd&attid=0.1&permmsgid=msg-f%3A1710900806814270328&th=17be573814180378&view=fimg&sz=s0-l75-ft&attbid=ANGjdJ8DOvpbmx2nenJ8PrSf2ZqAYbBvzvyMyZbTR7Ia0492vp14_zoyC4aQfJ7XEW8adscriyXfmM0HsK9lqtjCibOWnRC51cWa8ZBhVOAwsbdtN5S_3mUK4TVYO7o&disp=emb&realattid=ii_ktk9yh680] [https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/mail-sig/AIorK4zUkNRT866kynw9_M3LOSzhG7iYdUGb4ITzbEuW4JQ5gV5NotzXQfmnEgMHRUJelv8aOqlXjjd_WsVX] An accredited agency of the Teaching Family Association [data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAP///wAAACwAAAAAAQABAAACAkQBADs=3D]
I have not heard from dad yet, but I agree. They need to do the same protocol and clinical treatment as the program intends. I will reach out to dad and tell him I could put in a home-based caseworker to help with transportation, if needed. I will stress the importance of these visits in the progression of Matthew coming home. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks! Ok, I talked to dad. He is on board if I can find a provider to help transport him to visits (that's a big IF). Just so I can get everyone on the same page. Can you let me know what the schedule looks like for him? Like how many more campus visits (and for how many hours), then what that progression will look like? This will help dad understand what needs to be done in order to get Matthew to complete the program (and so I can share this with the provider). Once we have that list, I will send an email to dad with you on the email, as well. So he knows we are all on the same page. I understand the IF part, we are having the same issues with transports lately. On Fri, May 15, 2026 at 9:10 AM Alissa Ricker <aricker@knoxcounty.in.gov> wrote: Ok, I talked to dad. He is on board if I can find a provider to help transport him to visits (that's a big IF). Just so I can get everyone on the same page. Can you let me know what the schedule looks like for him?
