Alissa, I am having difficulty coordinating passes with Matthew’s father at this time. He has expressed that financial limitations are preventing him from traveling here. I informed him that we may be able to assist with a $50 gas card; however, he indicated that this would still not be sufficient. At this point, it sounds like the family is wanting to move directly into overnight visits. Clinically, I do not feel that recommendation is appropriate at this stage given that Matthew has only completed a single 3-hour pass and family therapy involvement has been minimal. I believe additional successful daytime passes and increased family therapy participation would be important prior to considering overnight visitation. I have not heard from dad yet, but I agree. They need to do the same protocol and clinical treatment as the program intends. I will reach out to dad and tell him I could put in a home-based caseworker to help with transportation, if needed. Ok, I talked to dad. He is on board if I can find a provider to help transport him to visits (that's a big IF). Just so I can get everyone on the same page. Can you let me know what the schedule looks like for him? Like how many more campus visits (and for how many hours), then what that progression will look like? This will help dad understand what needs to be done in order to get Matthew to complete the program (and so I can share this with the provider).
